Hope & Possibility Run 2025

Der Hope & Possibility Run von Achilles International Germany e.V. hat in München eine lange Tradition. In diesem Jahr geht er neue Wege: Erstmals findet der Lauf hybride statt: Die Teilnehmenden können die Strecke von mindestens 5 Kilometern virtuell an einem beliebigen Ort absolvieren oder im Rahmen des LIONS Monopteros-Laufs im Englischen Garten in München.

Achtung!

Wird die Strecke während des Monopertos-Laufs am 28. September 2025 im Englischen Garten gelaufen, ist zunächst dort eine Anmeldung erforderlich. Dann schickst du deine Anmeldungsbestätigung per Mail an projekte@achillesinternational-germany.org . Du erhältst daraufhin einen Gutscheincode mit dem du dich hier bei Spoferan kostenlos für den Hope & Possibility Run registrieren kannst. So unterstützt du also nicht nur Achilles International Germany e.V., sondern gleich noch den LIONS Club Altschwabing e.V.

Natürlich kannst du dich auch für beide Veranstaltungen anmelden. Oder Achilles Int. Germany e.V. eine Spende zukommen lassen. Das geht über den Shop!

Der Lauf muss von allen Teilnehmenden eigenständig erfasst werden, auch bei einer Teilnahme über den Monopteros-Lauf. Dies ist möglich über die Spoferan-App, eine verbundene Laufuhr, ein STRAVA-Konto oder das Hochladen einer GPX-Datei in die Spoferan-App.

Toll, dass du dabei bist! Aber wie sieht’s mit den Leuten um dich herum aus? Du hast drei Möglichkeiten, sie zum Laufen zu bringen:

1.  Bring deinen Lauf-Buddy mit!

Wenn du selbst angemeldet bist, kannst du weitere Läuferinnen und Läufer werben. Dafür gibt es 1 Euro Prämie!

2.  Werdet ein Charity-Running-Team!

Motiviere deinen Freundeskreis, deinen Verein oder deine Arbeitswelt, denn ab 5 Personen beträgt die Teilnahmegebühr nur noch 4 Euro.

Zu viele Tickets gekauft? Nicht benötigte Tickets werden auf Wunsch zurückerstattet oder wandern in den Spendentopf.

3.  Verschenke Lauf-Freude!

Im Shop kannst du einen Gutschein-Code erwerben und an einen lieben Menschen weitergeben. Dazu musst du selbst nicht angemeldet sein! (Wäre aber schön!)

Der Achilles Hope & Possibility Run ist in den USA einer der größten inklusiven Charity-Läufe. Athletinnen und Athleten mit den verschiedensten Beeinträchtigungen absolvieren im New Yorker Central Park gemeinsam mit Athletinnen und Athleten ohne Beeinträchtigungen eine Distanz von 4 Meilen.

Erstmals fand der Achilles Hope & Possibility Run im Jahr 2003 statt. Er entstand auf die Initiative von Trisha Meili, damals im Vorstand von Achilles International, und Dick Traum, dem Gründer und ehemaligen CEO der Organisation. Seinen Namen hat der Lauf von Trisha Meilis Buch I Am the Central Park Jogger – A Story of Hope and Possibility. Darin schreibt sie über den brutalen Angriff, der 1989 im abendlichen Central Park von Jugendlichen auf sie verübt worden war, und ihren langen und schweren Weg danach. Die junge Frau wurde vergewaltigt und beinahe totgeschlagen, trug eine schwere Hirnverletzung sowie den Verlust ihres linken Auges davon. Dass sie überlebte und sogar wieder Sport machen kann, grenzt an ein Wunder. Sogar den New York City Marathon hat sie gefinisht.

Heute findet der Achilles Hope & Possibility Run nicht nur in New York statt. Auf der ganzen Welt haben die internationalen Chapter von Achilles International das Event übernommen und veranstalten ihren eigenen Lauf in ihrem Heimatland. Darunter ist seit Jahren auch Achilles International Germany e.V.. Nach einer Veranstaltungspause im letzten Jahr hat sich der Verein 2025 erstmals für ein hybride Konzept entschieden, damit weltweit Menschen daran teilnehmen können.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Run 5 kilometers virtually from September 28 (9:00 a.m.) to October 6, 2025 (11:59 p.m.) at a location of your choice.

TRACKING

All participants must record their race time independently. This can be done using the Spoferan app, a connected running watch, a STRAVA account or by uploading a GPX file to the Spoferan app. (SPOFERAN App)

Great that you're here! But what about the people around you? You have three ways to get them running:

1. Bring your running buddy!

If you're registered, you can recruit other runners. You'll receive a €1 reward!

2. Become a charity running team!

Motivate your friends, your club, or your work environment, because for five or more people, the participation fee is only €4.

Bought too many tickets? Unused tickets will be refunded upon request or donated to the donation box.

3. Give the gift of running joy!

You can purchase a voucher code in the shop and give it to a loved one. You don't have to be registered to do this! (But that would be nice!)

And so you won't be alone on the course:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Achilles Hope & Possibility Run is one of the largest inclusive charity runs in the USA. Athletes with a wide range of disabilities complete a 4-mile run in New York's Central Park alongside athletes without disabilities.

The Achilles Hope & Possibility Run was first held in 2003. It was initiated by Trisha Meili, then on the board of Achilles International, and Dick Traum, the organization's founder and former CEO. The run takes its name from Trisha Meili's book, "I Am the Central Park Jogger – A Story of Hope and Possibility." In it, she writes about the brutal attack she was subjected to by teenagers in Central Park one evening in 1989 and her long and difficult journey afterward. The young woman was raped and nearly beaten to death, sustaining a severe brain injury and the loss of her left eye. That she survived and is even able to participate in sports again is nothing short of a miracle. She even finished the New York City Marathon.

Today, the Achilles Hope & Possibility Run isn't just held in New York. Around the world, Achilles International chapters have adopted the event and host their own races in their home countries. Achilles International Germany e.V. has been one of them for years. After a break from the event last year, the organization opted for a hybrid concept for the first time in 2025, allowing people from all over the world to participate.

¡Qué bien que estés aquí! Pero ¿y la gente que te rodea?

Tienes tres maneras de animarlos a correr:

1. ¡Trae a tu compañero de carrera!

Si te inscribes, puedes reclutar a otros corredores. ¡Recibirás 1 € de recompensa!

2. ¡Forma parte de un equipo de corredores solidario!

Motiva a tus amigos, a tu club o a tu entorno laboral, porque para cinco o más personas, la cuota de participación es de solo 4 €. ¿Compraste demasiadas entradas? Las entradas no utilizadas se te reembolsarán si las solicitas o se donarán a la caja de donaciones.

3. ¡Regala la alegría de correr!

Puedes comprar un código de cupón en la tienda y dárselo a un ser querido. ¡No es necesario estar registrado! (¡Pero estaría genial!). Para que no estés solo en el recorrido: Haz clic en el botón "Comprar" y selecciona tu opción preferida.

INFORMACIÓN GENERAL

La Carrera Achilles Hope & Possibility es una de las carreras benéficas inclusivas más grandes de EE. UU. Atletas con diversas discapacidades completan una carrera de 6,5 km en el Central Park de Nueva York junto con atletas sin discapacidad. La Carrera Achilles Esperanza y Posibilidad se celebró por primera vez en 2003. Fue iniciada por Trisha Meili, entonces miembro de la junta directiva de Achilles International, y Dick Traum, fundador y exdirector ejecutivo de la organización. La carrera toma su nombre del libro de Trisha Meili, "Soy la corredora de Central Park: una historia de esperanza y posibilidad". En él, Meili escribe sobre el brutal ataque que sufrió por parte de adolescentes en Central Park una noche de 1989 y su largo y difícil camino posterior. La joven fue violada y casi asesinada a golpes, sufriendo una grave lesión cerebral y la pérdida del ojo izquierdo. Que haya sobrevivido e incluso pueda volver a practicar deportes es un verdadero milagro. Incluso terminó la Maratón de Nueva York.

Hoy en día, la Carrera Achilles Esperanza y Posibilidad no solo se celebra en Nueva York. En todo el mundo, las filiales de Achilles International han adoptado el evento y organizan sus propias carreras en sus países de origen. Achilles International Germany e.V. Ha sido uno de ellos durante años. Tras una pausa en el evento el año pasado, la organización optó por un concepto híbrido por primera vez en 2025, permitiendo la participación de personas de todo el mundo.
